History and Construction – Built in Suffolk, UK, beginning 1973 and launched a few years later in 1977. “Taraxacus” was purchased by the current owner in July 2011, and lack of time to use forces sale. Constructed of four layers of diagonal and vertical, 3/16th, marine mahogany ply. Resorcinol cold moulded, allowing for being built round bilge, without hard chines. Sheathed with glass and painted with two part polyurethane. Hardwood frames and bulkheads, Columbian pine floors. Deck of 18mm Macore (mahogany) plywood, glass sheathed and painted. Cabin tops and interior joinery of Macore ply and Mahogany and Columbian pine. With the accommodation made up of the saloon plus forecabin, then centre cockpit with separate aft cabin. Separate toilet compartment. Good size galley area plus separate chart table. Shoal draft cruising long fin keel, made of mild steel welded box filled with lead and steel ballast. Round bilge and topsides. Wheel steering with teleflex in cockpit. Skeg hung rudder. The main engine is a BMC,  situated centrally under the cockpit sole. The engine head was rebuilt in 2011, and a new water pump fitted. Comments – – – Roomy sailboat that sails fast and has advantage of two masts for ease of sail handling, with smaller sail size.
